I hesitated about visiting Stockholm because of the weather and the bread. The former too cold. The latter too delicious - paired with their butter, damned my discipline, and bloated my tummy. That's what happened on previous work trips. The dread of spending 17+ hours on flights and at airports before getting to Lisbon put Stockholm in my itinerary. The damnedest decision I made, and the best time I had, thanks to friends in town.
I had to borrow a ski jacket for the end of April. Ten days later, record temperature hit, I was experiencing Swedish summer 1.5 days before my flight back to LA. Birds chirping, flowers blooming, people suntanning. Wished I brought shorts.
