Cheap used to rule my grocery shopping cart, then I studied about food. When I saw and tasted the difference between local grass fed and conventionally farmed goods, I switched. Now farmers market is my happy place.
Free style I cook. I play with food and everything I've tried is good. Damn good. I cannot credit the source of ingredients enough. Because everything has taste, most of the time only salt is needed for seasoning. Sharing some of the dishes I made. Feel free to deviate and have fun.
The radish flowers in the header picture taste just like radish, raw or cooked.
So many interesting local fruits too.

- Finger lime - use for salad or drinks. I add it to hot water to make tea. The meat crunchy like little eggs bursting with lime flavor.
- Surinam cherries. Sweet and slightly tart, like tomato and cherry in one, has a little bit of basil flavor to me. I ate half of the tray and still didn't have a good description.
- Fresh barhi dates - makes your mouth dry, puckery, but it's sweet, crunchy like mini apple. So fun to eat.
- Strawberry guava
- Mulberries
I go to farmer's market once every two weeks and I rotate them so I get to try different things. Since I buy two weeks worth of groceries each time, I put paper towels inside the plastic bags to absorb moisture, making the produce last longer in fridge.
